AcoustiGel
Aerogel-Infused Sound & Thermal Insulating Coating

AcoustiGel insulating coating is a single-component, water-based, fire-rated silo-acrylic elastomeric coating infused with aerogel for interior, exterior, and cool roofing applications. AcoustiGel provides excellent thermal insulation for both indoor and outdoor applications, with effective acoustic insulation performance of up to 68% sound reduction. AcoustiGel improves the heating and cooling efficiency of interior spaces by creating a thermal break, reducing thermal loss between rooms.

AcoustiGel is a breathable and highly effective weather barrier coating for many types of outdoor applications. It exhibits superior adhesion to most substrates with a high hide capability for an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

is sound dampening effective?
​When considering sound dampening and reduction, especially within a residential setting, to gauge the benefit of using sound dampening products you first need to get a better understanding of the construction details of that project. For example, is it a ceiling, floor, or wall assembly? What kind of wall studs have been used? What is the stud spacing? Is additional insulation being used within the wall or ceiling? What type and thickness of drywall will be used and has it been air sealed? All of these factors change the direction and magnitude of sound transmission through the hard surfaces of a room. Adding sound dampening coatings and insulation can help reduce or redirect the sound, but will not eliminate all sound transmission.
